“Thank God she’s here.” That was my thought cloud each time I’d check in with Beth while she was a Design Director on my Global UX Design team at Fidelity Investments.

The nature of our work was, as the name implied – Global, with efforts stretching from England to Continental Europe to Hong Kong as well as in the U.S. These were often politically charged engagements requiring strong yet nuanced influence and negotiation skills, bringing together parties that often did not work together, managing cultural biases, all the while remembering that the customer needs take top priority (a perspective not always globally shared).

Beth was optimistic, encouraging and unflappable in the face of whatever time constraint, political roadblock or technical hurdle had to be managed to deliver an outstanding user experience focused on solving a customer problem or delivering on a timely product opportunity. Beth’s patience and empathetic nature coupled with strong leadership and facilitation skills served as a solid foundation from which to build strong team partnerships and guide global design efforts.

In addition to all of that, Beth is a blast. She infused each effort with humor and lightheartedness that was always greatly appreciated by her team, her peers, and her clients.
